Headteachers Blog - 20th July 2018

Hello

With the 2017-18 academic year drawing to a close I would like to take this opportunity to thank everybody involved with Aberdare Community School for their warm welcome and strong support during my tenure as headteacher here.  Although my stay has been relatively brief I have, nonetheless, learnt much, experienced plenty and accumulated very fond memories.  The staff and pupils here – and their parents – have much of which to be proud.  The plans in place for the future leadership of the school are exciting with Mr Nathan Prygodzicz taking over as Acting Headteacher during the Autumn Term and Mrs Carol Morgans taking over as permanent headteacher from January 2019.  Both of these colleagues have excellent track records in school leadership elsewhere and I have absolute confidence that they will lead the school with considerable distinction.

There are a few key dates that I need to remind you of:

August 16th – AS/A Level results day

August 23rd – GCSE results day

September 3rd, 4th and 5th – INSET days

September 6th – pupils return to school

I would like to wish all pupils who sat public examinations the very best of luck with their results.  Also, I would like to wish everybody connected to the school a lovely summer and the very best for the future.
