Strive | Believe | Achieve
It is difficult to imagine a more eventful week than the week just gone!
Firstly, Bugsy Malone. I am sure that nobody who was at The Coliseum Theatre last week to see our school show will forget the joy of witnessing such talent and commitment as we saw on that stage.
12 February 2018
Pupils of the Month - January 2018
Year 7 - Harry Collins
Year 8 - Caitlin Jones
Year 9 - Dominic Jones
Year 10 - Amir Saleh
Year 11 - Scott Harris
All have been nominated by their progress leaders for their commitment to school work, hard work and positive attitude.
Harry Collins from Year 7 found £50 in our assembly hall and handed it into his progress leader. A parent had lost the money the previous evening in a parents evening. We commend his honesty. Well done Harry!
At Aberdare Community School we believe that excellent attendance and punctuality are fundamental in ensuring that children grow up with the correct work ethos for their future lives.
Children’s attendance is closely monitored by our Assistant Head-teacher, Mrs Emma Harris and the Family Engagement Officer, Mrs Sian Williams who are assisted by Mrs Debbie Allen in Years 10 & 11. They work closely with the local authority and RCT’s AWOs.
For your child to gain the greatest benefit from school, maximum attendance is necessary.
Easy Fund Raising
We are a school in the Cynon Valley with 1,350 pupils. With pressure on school budgets, this additional source of income will help the school to support pupils and supply resources that might otherwise not be purchased.
